Be on the lookout for a new virus that is circulating via email. The title will be something along the lines of “Notice to Appear in Court”. It’s a short email that mentions a court date, and encourages you to open an attachment to see the full details of the “court appearance”. DO NOT open that attachment. If you have viewed the email text only, you’re probably okay, but once you open the attachment you will be infected. It is best to simply delete the email immediately. It highly unlikely that the real County Court even knows your email, let alone that they would use that to notify you of a court appearance without officially contacting you via phone or postal mail.
If you feel you may have been infected, turn off the computer to avoid further infections and contact us for advice on how to proceed.
