Windows has recently been made aware of a severe security flaw in their operating systems that can be exploited by hackers to gain access to your computer, install programs or user accounts and view your files. The vulnerability called CVE-2021-1675, or more commonly “PrintNightmare“, affects all versions of Windows starting with Windows 7 and up. It is highly recommended to run Windows updates on your computer as soon as possible to download the patch that closes the security threat.

For most users of Windows 10, the patch is KB5004945, but the last four digits might be slightly different if you’re using an older release of Windows 10, Windows 8, or Windows 7. You can verify if you have installed the patch by going to the Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> View Installed Updates, and looking for KB5004945 in the list of updates under the Microsoft Windows section.
